The county of Kronoberg (Sweden) starts using Algodoo for education

The county of Kronoberg, in Sweden, makes a unique investment, giving all schools in the area access to Algodoo. The Algodoo program will be used in lessons for visualizing physics, technology and mathematics.

"This is a great investment that makes us stand out as a unique county in Sweden. We believe that Algodoo, combined with other tools, will help our next generation to obtain better skills in mathematics, physics and technology", says Åke Sjöberg, Director of AV Media Kronoberg.

AV-Media has signed a site license with Algoryx, allowing all students and teachers in the primary and secondary school in the county of Kronoberg to use Algodoo on both their school computers and their home computers.

"Algodoo can be used in all stages of education - from preschool to high school. The program makes it possible to visualize theories about science, physics, mathematics and therefore helps students to increase their understanding of these topics", says Tina Sundberg, IT teacher.

A complement to teaching

"Algodoo is a complement to our traditional physics lessons. Physics is actually fun, but many of our students today find it quite the opposite. The Algodoo program will never replace hands-on physics, but, it is perfect for increasing our students' level of interest and deepen their knowledge in the subject", says Katrin Lindwall, Lecturer.

Katrin is one of several teachers at the Center for Learning and Knowledge Technologies (CeLeKT) at Linnaeus University that will work together with AV-Media in the process of training teachers in Kronoberg.

"During this spring AV Media will offer all the county's municipalities different seminars for introducing, inspiring and talking about the program and how it can be used in education", says Åke.
