At the local business award gala in Umeå, Sweden, Algoryx was presented as the winner in the Employer of the Year category. Openness, flexibility, and a strong focus on work/life balance are values cited in the jury statement. “This award is particularly special to us” says Algoryx CEO Kenneth Bodin.
At the annual Umeågalan business awards, Algoryx was nominated in three prestigious categories: Exporter of the Year, University Spinoff of the Year, and Employer of the Year. In the final category, Employer of the Year, Algoryx emerged as the winner.
The award was presented during the gala ceremony at Aula Nordica on March 23, 2023, with CEO Kenneth Bodin and CFO Marlene Cederquist accepting the honor on behalf of the company.
Strong values applied both internally and externally
The jury statement reads as follows:
“Openness, flexibility, and a strong focus on work/life balance are recurring themes when Algoryx describes its flat organizational structure. The company applies its values both internally—in efforts to continuously improve the workplace—and externally in choosing which clients to work with based on ethical considerations. The result? Strong growth, profitability, and highly engaged employees who speak passionately about their company.”

A Workplace Built on Trust and Joy
Reflecting on the award, CEO Kenneth Bodin shared:
“We are really proud of the awards we’ve earned over the years, yet the Employer of the Year award is particularly special to us. Our workplace thrives on laughter, friendships, and a positive atmosphere. We deeply appreciate this recognition and want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Algoryx who contributes to making our workplace truly remarkable. Thank you for this prestigious award!”
An Inclusive Process Behind the Award
The selection process involved interviews with company leadership and employee representatives from the nominated organizations.
In a press release published by Umeågalan ahead of the gala event, Bodin emphasized the importance of employee involvement:
“A good employer ensures employees are part of shaping where the company is going and how we work together to get there. When that happens, issues like health, work/life balance, workplace environment, and job satisfaction become natural parts of how we grow and lead the company together.”
