Algoryx presenting at CHOPS 2018 in London

CHOPs is the international conference on conveying and handling of particulate solids. This year the conference gathered 200 attendees from academia and industry during four days in Greenwich, London, UK.

Martin Servin, co-founder and senior scientist at Algoryx as well as associate professor at Umeå University, gave a keynote talk on virtual commissioning in mining. The presentation covered the challenges and state-of-art technologies for virtual commissioning with examples from Algoryx customers and partners.

In particular,  the combined use of multibody dynamics, discrete elements, CAD and control to iterate over many solution alternatives was addressed. This was exemplified with a project at LKAB, where Algoryx and Mecon assisted the mining company in developing a mobile ore chute solution for commissioning in a mine in full production.
